Grandson Drama Continued

Continuing from the previous post, everyone was heading to the Emergency room because something had taken place with the baby on the way to the wic appointment.

When we had hit the wic appointment, the nurse, who we found out wasn’t suppose to be at work that day but oh am I so thankful she was.

Now here we were pulling into the emergency room while the girlfriend and baby had been there for quite sometime. We went to the registration desk and of course they wouldn’t let us in. I was royality ticked off along with my mother.

I think we waited for twenty minutes or so before we were allowed to go back in the room where they were treating the baby. When we got back there, the girlfriend was in tears stating no one would believe her on the events that had taken place seeing as sthe baby was now back to himself.

When I asked why the ambulance sped up she stated, they had gotten another call and needed to answer it. Well, one question was answered now to find out what the deal was with the baby.

The doctor came in and started to treat us like dirt and as if we didn’t expereince anything tramatic. I was pissed. When my mother stated the nurse had given the baby cpr, the doctor sort of changed his tune.

He left us to go call the wic office and talk with the nurse. About five minutes had gone by with the doctor returning to say he had scheduled an ambulance to take the baby to the nearest children’s hospital to have them check him out.

Just as the ambulance was arriving to get the baby, the boy came back to see what was going on. We watched the baby and the girlfriend being loaded and head off with us following close behind. We called the man of the house and he quickly changed directions to follow behind us.

The boy also had called her parents and they were also on the way. It was becoming a big deal. The baby is a big deal in our lives.

We arrived at the hospital, the man of the house had to be searched because he was carrying a gun and they confinscated it. The girlfriend’s parents were also searched for whatever reason so, by the time we were all allowed to enter the hospital, the baby had arrived and was being monitored while the baby only wanted his dad.

The rest of us had to wait outside in the waiting room. We waited for a little over three hours and by now, it was beyond dark. We were all tired and wanted answers. Did I mention the tears we cried?

People came and went while we waited for word from either the girlfriend or the boy. Finally, the girlriend came through the door stating they were going to release the baby but he needed to see a neurosurgeon for testing.

Needless to say, more tears were shed before the boy came out with the baby who looked and acting total normal.

We left scared, no answers, and just wanting this day in the life of a Slcoum to end more than anything.
